Network And Regulator Suspends 24Poker

Kahnawake Gaming Commission And Microgaming Suspends Site As Management Team Disappear

Online poker site 24Poker has had its gaming licence suspended by Kahnawake Gaming Commission and, as a result, all play at the site has been suspended by the Microgaming network on which the site operates.

A brief statement from Microgaming says, "Microgaming (www.microgaming.com) today announced that all game play on the 24 Poker website has been blocked due to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission suspending 24 Poker’s gaming license.

“Both Microgaming and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission have tried without success to contact the 24 Poker Management Team. Further announcements will be made as additional information becomes available.”

It is currently unknown what will happen to play deposits at the site. The site is owned by BPR Services Limited which, according to Bizzy.co.uk, has an address in County Durham in the UK and lists a Mr. A Moody as a director.

antwoord: tot nu toe bekend: de FBI heeft een aantal web domeinnamen van bepaalde pokersites ' overgenomen' en daar een waarschuwingstekst op gezet. Het betreft pokerstars.com fulltiltpoker.com ub.com (of ultimatebet.com)

Vraag: ik krijg die FBI waarschuwing niet te zien, bij mij doen de webadressen het gewoon?
antwoord: waarschijnlijk zijn de nieuwe instellingen nog niet doorgekomen via DNS.

Vraag: vind je dat ik moet uitcashen van site X Y Z ?
Antwoord: dit is mijn persoonlijke mening: je geld zal wel veilig zijn bij pokerstars en ftp (in mindere mate bij UB?)
maar er valt, afhankelijk van wat er precies aan de hand is, best een 'cashout run' te verwachten.
Bij een cashout run heb je mogelijk als Nederlander een voordeel boven met name Amerikanen dat er betere/snellere payment processors hebben, zoals neteller en money.bookers .
Het zal wel zo zijn dat de pokersites niet zitten te springen om een 'cashout run', jammer als deze opmerking bijdraagt tot paniek.

In het verleden is op vergelijkbare wijze bodog.com eens als gevolg van een gerechtelijke uitspraak down gegaan.
Bodog is toen, buiten de USA, doorgegaan via de naam bodoglife.com
Inmiddels heeft bodog hun eigen webnaam weer terug.
Hier echter is de FBI de tegenstander, en het is de vraag hoever die doorpakken.

Partypoker heeft destijds bij invoering van de UIEGA, gesettled voor een paar honderd miljoen.
Het zou zomaar kunnen zijn dat dit de definitieve exit van Pstars en FTP uit de Amerikaanse markt gaat betekenen. (dit is puur speculatief mijnerzijds)

Yoyo,

ik zie door de 2+2 bomen het bos niet meer. Nu weet ik dat er hier mensen zijn die dagelijks op 2+2 zitten, misschien dat iemand me een heleboel zoekwerk kan besparen.

Naast FTP/Stars/UB heb je ook nog Merge, Cake en Bodog. Ook netwerken die US players accepteerden. Zullen hier genoeg mensen zijn die geld hebben staan op 1 van deze netwerken. Paar vragen:

- Gaan deze netwerken voor Amerikanen ook (spoedig) op zwart?
- Hoe zitten deze sites qua liquide middelen, ergo, is cashen slim/noodzakelijk?
- Waarom zijn alleen Stars, FTP en UB aangepakt en deze sites niet?

Hey mensen, ik heb lang niet gepost (op een keer negatieve post toen ik zat was na (die moeten jullie maar negeren)), maar hier ben ik weer.
Ik ben de laatste tijd weer een beetje aan het spelen en het valt me op bijvoorbeeld 25NL op Pokerstars opeens erg veel spelers uit landen als Rusland, Tjechie en Polen komen.
Het is misschien niet nodig om te zeggen, maar de meesten van deze spelers zijn niet bepaald kundig.
Ik heb op een aantal tafels 25NL gezeten waar gewoon 3-4 mensen als vis bestempeld konden worden.
Natuurlijk is dit een goede zaak, ook al krijg ik het voor elkaar om binnen een uur vier buyins te dumpen.
Hoe is jullie deze instroom opgevallen en is deze op hoge limieten ook zo merkbaar?
Ik vermoed dat ik van deze gelegenheid gebruik ga maken om mijn game een beetje op te vijzelen en er misschien zelfs weer een centje aan te kunnen gaan verdienen.

Toch klonk het ongeloofwaardig: op 17 jarige leeftijd high stakes spelen is al bizar, maar tienduizenden dollars betalen voor coaching, skypen met o.a. durrrr, dat was moeilijk te geloven.

Police: Bellagio heist similar to earlier robbery

LAS VEGAS – An armed bandit escaped Tuesday on a motorcycle after stealing at least $1.5 million in casino chips from the posh Bellagio resort and may have pulled a similar caper across town less than a week ago, police said.

The culprit, however, might find it hard to redeem his loot at any other casino except the high-end, Italian-themed hotel-casino that features a wall of famous fountains along the Las Vegas Strip.

The 3:50 a.m. robbery at a craps table happened "about as quick as you can do it," when a man wearing a motorcycle helmet pulled a gun on patrons, police Lt. Clinton Nichols told The Associated Press.

Police later released an 11-second video showing a man in a jumpsuit running through a casino entry lobby with a gun in his right hand. At one point, he turned and pointed the weapon behind him. His helmet appeared to be red with twin white stripes from front to rear.

Police suspect the same man wore a helmet, flashed a gun and sped away on a black sport motorcycle after robbing the Las Vegas Suncoast Hotel & Casino poker room about on Dec. 9.

That heist netted less than $20,000 from a poker room cashier, police said. Police also released several photos Tuesday of the robber at the Suncoast.

Estimates of the amount taken from Bellagio varied. Nichols said it could approach $2 million. In a press release, police put the amount at about $1.5 million.

Gordon Absher, spokesman for Bellagio owner MGM Resorts International, declined to discuss the investigation. But he noted that casino chips aren't the same as cash.

"At some point they have to be redeemed," Absher said.

Chips are unique to casino properties and are generally not interchangeable, although state regulations allow casino companies to redeem chips from sister properties with some restrictions.

Absher wouldn't say if MGM Resorts properties are among Las Vegas casinos that embed radio frequency devices in chips.

The chips taken at Bellagio ranged in value from $100 to $25,000. Authorities plan to watch for anyone trying to cash high-value Bellagio chips.

"We have safeguards in place," police Officer Barbara Morgan said.

To most anyone watching, he is just a tall, lanky young man in ripped bluejeans and a gray hoodie. Van de vrienden van 2+2:
er schijnt een nieuw wetgevingsplan voor Amerikaans online poker in de maak te zijn, ditmaal gesteund door Dhr. Reid.
Deze man is veel invloedrijker dan de supporter van de vorige wetgevingspoging, Dhr. Barney Frank.

Het wetgevingsplan voor online poker zou waarschijnlijk een 15 maanden oid 'lockout' periode voor Amerikanen op FTP en Pstars betekenen, aangezien dat mogelijke kandidaten voor een toekomstige Amerikaanse licentie vanaf 2012 zijn.

Tevens ziet het er naar uit als dit plan wordt aangenomen, dat in de verdere toekomst Amerikanen tegen elkaar gaan pokeren en niet op wereldwijde platforms.

Dwz vrije toegang van spelers tot de .com sites wegens goede regulering (Engeland) of nog niks geregeld (Canada), alleen illegale of moeilijke toegang tot de .com sites zoals in de USA, of geen toegang tot internationale games wegens regulering zoals Italie, Frankrijk of verbod/blokkade.

Anders kunnen we zelf zo'n lijstje in elkaar draaien als daar animo toe bestaat, de verzamelde kennis is denk ik wel paraat.

Na het Cereus netwerk is het nu namelijk de beurt aan Cake Poker. Ook daar blijkt het één en ander mis met de beveiliging, ontdekte pokertableratings.com. Wachtwoorden en holecards zijn zo te achterhalen. Door het beveiligingslek is het mogelijk gebruikersnamen, wachtwoorden en holecards te achterhalen. Het probleem is net als bij het Cereus netwerk dat er geen SSL encryptie wordt gebruikt, maar een XOR beveiligingsmethode die veel zwakker is. Volgens PTR is het erg simpel om data te ontcijferen, dankzij een eenvoudig te vinden encryptiecode. PTR bracht ook het Cereus-lek naar buiten. Lees het hele Cake Poker onderzoek hier. Cake Poker Cardroom Manager Lee Jones liet op TwoPlusTwo het volgende weten: “Sure, when the issue came up in May, I asked our software management team. De beste man begon keurig op de 25/50NL tafels maar nadat hij ZeeJustin voor 550K had gesloopt op de 200/400NL tafels speelde hij vannacht tegen zowel Durrr als Brian Hastings 300/600PLO.

Resultaat sinds zijn comeback: $ 1.300.000+ in 2 dagen :cool:

P4E en het moederbedrijf ELG (everleaf gaming) hadden laatste maanden wat probleempjes. En de geruchten over een mogelijke scandal doken al snel op.

Vandaag wat opheldering vanuit het moederbedrijf ELG :

Morgen ben ik op vakantie maar misschien kan ik tijdens de skivakantie kijken hoe het is gegaan. Als je dit onzin vindt, prima want zo superbelangrijk vind ik het niet. Toch zou ik stemmen erg waarderen.

Edit: ik zie dat het veeeeel beter is om voor mid stakes PLO-speler van het jaar te gaan! Met ongeveer 30BB/100 handen op 400plo hu (deel HH weg maar over de laatste 12243 handen win ik 34 BB/100 ondanks megaverlies van vandaag. Daarvoor draaide ik ook goed op 400plo hu maar verloor ik 6max). Helaas kom ik daar nu pas achter maar toch alvast bedankt voor de stemmen.

Legalizing online gambling and the firms that run it would create a potentially disastrous speculative bubble in U.S. financial markets similar to the sub-prime mortgage crisis, spawning fast-growing companies with exaggerated earnings expectations that far outstrip real value, Kindt said.

“I actually think a speculative bubble on Internet gambling would be worse because it’s based on nothing,” Kindt said. “With the sub-prime crisis, there was at least some real property involved. With online gambling, there’s nothing but people dumping money into their computers.”

Global markets have already seen the consequences, Kindt said. The London Stock Exchange, which permits trading of online gaming company shares, saw its value plunge by $40 billion in one day after the U.S. strengthened its ban on Internet gambling in 2006.

Online gambling also would “throw gasoline” on a recession that has already cut deeply into Americans’ savings and put more than 7 million people out of work, Kindt said.

“Money that should be spent on cars, refrigerators and other goods that build the economy and create jobs would instead be wasted on Internet gambling in every living room, at every work desk and at every school desk,” he said.

Kindt says Frank’s bill flies in the face of research that supports maintaining a ban that traces to the 1961 Federal Wire Act, pushed through by then-Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy to curb the flow of money for organized crime.

“In today’s world, that money-laundering threat also applies to terrorist organizations,” said Kindt, a contributing editor and author of the United States International Gambling Report Series, a 3,000-page collection released this year that includes hundreds of pages on the perils of online betting.

He says online gambling also would yield steep social costs, including gambling addiction, bankruptcies and crime.

The threat of addiction is especially high among younger people, who studies show are already twice as prone to gambling problems as older Americans, Kindt said. Studies estimate that about 4 percent of young people are addicted to gambling and 8 to 12 percent are problem gamblers.

“It’s getting worse and worse as gambling spreads and would soar if online gambling is legalized,” he said. “Internet gambling is known as the crack cocaine of creating new, addicted gamblers because it’s so accessible.”

Kindt says bankruptcy and crime rates also would balloon as people deplete family finances or raid their employers’ accounts to cover online gambling debts.

Thursday’s hearing on Frank’s bill comes less than a week after the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve postponed the effective date of new regulations that would strengthen the existing ban.

The new rules, which had been set to take effect Dec. 1 but were pushed back until June 1 of next year, would prohibit U.S. financial institutions from accepting payments from credit cards, checks or electronic fund transfers to settle online wagers. U.S. bettors have been estimated to supply at least half of the revenue of the $16 billion online gambling industry, which is largely hosted overseas.

Frank said the delay will give Congress time to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. He also sought to repeal the act but failed in 2007, just a year after Congress approved the measure.

He argues that online gambling should be legal as a matter of personal liberty and that the federal government could gain tax revenues if Internet gambling is allowed and regulated.

Kindt disagrees, saying the costs far outweigh the benefits.

“Online gambling should not be legalized for the same reasons that hard drugs remain banned,” he said. “The social and crime costs are enormous and if gambling is easy to access more and more people will get hooked.”

Dit zal mijn laatste post als professioneel railbird zijn. De afgelopen jaren hebben we vele helden zien komen en gaan (Bad_IP, ICallSoWhat, Durrrr & PA obviously) maar de laatste maand is er een God opgestaan die wel untouchable lijkt.

Zijn naam: Isildur1.

Inmiddels meer dan 3,5 miljoen van Durrrr gewonnen in enkele dagen en heeft in totaal de laatste twee weken meer dan 5 miljoen gewonnen (alleen al op Full Tilt). Daarnaast speelde hij ook nog regelmatig 8 tafels op Ipoker als 'TheItalienStyle'.

Vannacht heeft de man Antonius moeten laten reloaden en hebben we de eerste match up tegen Ivey gezien. Is hij degene die de rest van de pros naar huis stuurt???
